reminiscing good music from the past......

there's only so much you can do when it comes to researching for new music to listen to. discovering new bands, or perhaps some groups that have been disbanded before you even knew they existed and it's super waste if they are one amazing band.

here's my preferred past albums from my collection i think you should spend some time to check them out, not for the sake of just checking, but to listen to the music that they had created.

1) M83 - Before the Dawn Heals Us (2005)
ambient/electronic duo M83 is the right band for you if you're a spacy-sync-ridden-tune person. wonderful work with the keyboards i should say. it just blended so well. unfortunately, this album was done by Anthony Gonzalez himself, as his other half, Nicolas Fromageau, left.

recommended tracks: don't save us from the flames, teen angst.

2) Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada (1999)
nine-piece Montreal-based instrumental post-rock band Godspeed You! Black Emperor is one of my favorite bands of all time. making full use of strings and samplers to create this 2-track album. if you're the kind who can take lengthy music that last for more than 10 minutes, then you should check out their style and the arrangements of their music.

recommended tracks: moya and bbf3 since there's only two tracks in this album...

3) Red House Painters - Songs For A Blue Guitar (1996)
folk rock band Red House Painters is the band who influenced me to folk. and this album is the top favorites from all of their albums. the band have disbanded and reformed as Sun Kil Moon since 2003. great guitar work, great moody-sinking-tears-dropping rhythm.

recommended tracks: have you forgotten, all mixed up

4) Slint - Spiderland (1991)
post-rock outfit Slint is the shit! unfortunately, they have disbanded since 1992, and reformed for a brief series of special shows.

recommended tracks: breadcrumb, washer

more bands coming up soon. in the mean time, please do give comment on what you think about these recommended bands...until then, enjoy listening!
