Tortoise's A Lazarus Taxon Box Set Collection

Tortoise, an instrumental rock band from Illinois since the early 90's released a box set collection, A Lazarus Taxon after 12 long years of expanding the definition of rock music. the box set consists of their out of print Rhythms, Resolutions & Clusters album, some rare singles from foreign releases and tour EPs, compilation tracks and unreleased materials including remixes by Jim O'Rourke, Brad Wood, Rick Brown, Steve Albini (Shellac) and Mike Watt (The Stooges).


the boxset consists of 3 cds and 1 dvd, footage of extended live performances, videos and short films.


Tortoise was among the first American indie rock bands to blend styles similar to krautrock, dub, minimalism, electronica and jazz styles. They are associated with bands like The Sea and Cake, Slint, Isotope 217, Brokeback, Shrimp Boat and Chicago Underground Duo.
