Vagabond Opera - The Zeitgeist Beckons

Vagabond Opera, a six-piece musical group based in Portland was created in 2002, disillusioned with the classical opera world and simply created a new context out of it. Flashing through the wonders of European Cabaret, vintage Americana, Balkan dance troops and classical opera, you get the outcome just like what can be found on VO.

"This is not your granny’s opera, but a visceral artistic ensemble that features powerful instrumental and vocal performances coupled with a highly eclectic and theatrical experience."

The band’s lineup features trained operatic tenor and soprano vocals, accordion, tenor saxophone, cello, stand-up bass, and drums. Guest performers often appear with the ensemble.

VO recently released their third full length album titled The Zeitgeist Beckons, a 15-track album filled with sentimental-yet-chaotic art performances.
