Nickel Eye - The Time of the Assassins

When The Strokes went on a short hiatus, bassist Nikolai Fraiture began to dig out some of his previous crafts and started stacking the bits and pieces together.That slowly gave him the inspiration to form his solo project called the Nickel Eye.

Getting assistance from a UK band called the South, the newly-formed team begun their journey compiling those inspirations to Nickel Eye's debut album titled The Time of the Assassins.

The debut album include guest appearances by Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner and Regina Spektor.

As quoted from a source, his work are musically inspired by some of his favorite artists such as Neil Young, Frank Black, Leonard Cohen and The Kinks.

The Time of the Assassins will release on January 27, 2009 through Rykodisc.
