Kate Maki - On High

Canadian alt-folk singer / songwriter Kate Maki will release her third album On High on February 12. Co-produced by Kate and Howe Gelb (Giant Sand, Neko Case), the album was recorded live off the floor by Dave Draves (Julie Doiron, Jim Bryson) at Little Bullhorn Studios in Ottawa, Ontario over a period of five days in March 2007. There are 11 new songs featuring Howe on piano and electric guitar, Dave on optigan and organ, Dale Murray (Buck 65, Cuff The Duke) on pedal steel and acoustic guitar, and Nathan Lawr (Royal City, Fembots) on drums and piano. All four musicians also lent their voices to what are being described as Kate's strongest songs to date.

Check out her MySpace for some samples.
