A Warning To Musicians

For those who keep themselves updated by reading newspapers and e-papers, I'm sure you have heard about this guy from Muar who was bold enough to work on an exclusive remix version of Malaysia's national anthem, Negaraku. He has too much LOVE for his country and he decided to drop some rap verses for this remix version that he produced. Contents of the song include corruptions, social issues, and culture differences. Sources said he is currently in Taiwan furthering his studies and he often carries a Malaysia flag with him to reveal his patriotism and loyalty to the country.

On the other hand, he was slapped by the authorities for composing such improper song, especially using the national anthem as the rhythm. It's a total humiliation to the country and he should be executed!

He is the brave and bold Namewee. Here's the video he made on the song, Negarakuku.

His attempt were encouraging. It's true. I'm impressed. But he's just doing it the wrong way. He made a pretty bad selection in using the exact national anthem, plus some bouncy beats. I don't know. Just another person caught doing something at the wrong time. I guess he's not the first who did amendments on the national anthem though.

Well, what's done is done. Now let's see whether the authorities would take action on this poor guy. I'm not a supporter nor a hater for his effort.

sir gila k. yells to all musicians out there to think twice before composing a song related to any regarding matter that might offend any religion and culture in Malaysia. And of course the law. Otherwise, you can be the same old mad ass musician you were before. Rock on!
