Jesu - Pale Sketches / Lifeline

Take a good listen to one of the most favorable experimental shoegazing bands in the industry, Jesu. We've covered them before in one of our May entries, so dig in if you wanna find out more about the boys by clicking here.

It's nice to see musicians coming up with new releases, but I'd say not too much. There's just no surprises anymore if you're releasing too much at a time. But in Jesu's case, it's totally different. It just gets more exciting when another release is announced.

This year alone, they have released 2 full length albums, 2 EPs and 1 split LP with Eluvium. We have reported on the first release for 2007, Conquerer.

The second release was the Sun Down/Sun Rise EP 12-inch colored vinyl in two limited formats, followed by Jesu/Eluvium LP split album. The fourth is their third full length album Pale Sketches which consists of unreleased materials and is limited to 2000 copies only. The last release for the year as of today is the Lifeline EP. Enon - Grass Geysers...Carbon Clouds

New York indie rockers Enon are set to release their new album entitled Grass Geysers...Carbon Clouds on October 9. Their first in a four-year silence, they made a strong comeback this time.

Electrifying drums and percussion flow, passionate digital effects, gigantic guitar riffs, insane high-speed music on the run.

Lots of fun, lots of movement, lots of energy. Wouldn't be that bad right? Check it out!

Beirut - The Flying Club Cup

The Flying Club Cup is the second full length album by Beirut (Zach Condon), and will be release in a couple of days.

Beirut's first critically-acclaimed release Gulag Orkestar won him a recognition for Best Album of 2006 by indie record store Rough Trade.

This round, he did something pretty much different from the previous, from balkan folk to French-influenced music from the sound to lyrical directions.

La Blogothèque did a film on the album shot in Brooklyn, and The Take Away Shows did short-films for every single track from the album. I'm not sure it's the official music video for each song, but you can view them at The Flying Club Cup official dedicated site.

Marshall Mathers strikes back

Marshall Bruce Mathers III, or better known as his stage name Eminem, has never been doubt for his skills and talents in making good vibes. After four long years without releasing an album of its own (excluding Curtain Call: The Hits & Eminem Presents The Re-Up), the Grammy Award winning rapper is set to release his fifth in 2008.

Despite the rumors claiming there isn't any new stuffs by him, but other renowned rappers like 50 Cent and Dr Dre has confirmed the new album is coming out soon.

It's not certain what is the title of this upcoming album, but tunes of his new tracks has been leaked from DJ Whoo Kid's radio show.

Jars of Clay - Christmas Songs

Folk rockers from Illinois Jars of Clay is once again back for the third time this year alone, this time, releasing their ninth full length album Christmas Songs.

This year alone, they have released a greatest hits album The Essential Jars of Clay and an EP filled with live recordings during tours Live Monsters.

Christmas Songs is an album made for the up and coming highly celebrated festive season that consists of 14 lovely Christmas carols, some are established and notable ones, some lesser knowns, some originals.

This album used a one-take recording method. That means the band did a lot of practicing and arranging before recording the album. Eh? Awesome!

Efterklang - Parades

Danish post-rock group Efterklang is set to release another new album entitled Parades on 15 October after releasing critically acclaimed mini album Under Giant Trees the same year. Consists of five core members, and the sixth making film for their songs. They are being assisted by a few other guest appearances during live sessions.

Mirador is currently placed at number 4 in the Danish radio program Det Elektriske Barometer.

Ian MacKaye is dead?!

Rumours are spreading really quick that Fugazi frontman Ian MacKaye is dead! To the ONE who made this out, SCREW YOU!

Allegations made were pretty intensed and caused curiosity from various parties to find out whether the news spread is true. After a couple of calls made to the hospital that was reported MacKaye was admitted to, there wasn't any legit record indicating that he's dead. Then a call was made to MacKaye's residence and got the man himself to answer the phone and replied, "I am still alive!"

So, the fake chaos is over. Head back to work while listening to The Evens.

Vans Sky Gallery - Cole Gerst & Derek Albeck

Back in a couple of months, we did wrote something about the Vans Sky Gallery before on three talented artists. They are Marco Zamora, Sage Vaughn and Kelsey Brookes. And today we will present you two more of the total chosen six.

Cole Gerst is an artist, illustrator, designer and animator based in the Mount Washington area of LA. He is the founder and art director of option-g visual communication. Gerst began his career in the music business designing cd covers and posters for such bands as The Shins, Modest Mouse, Beck, Elliot Smith and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.



Derek Albeck was born in 1983 in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California. Showing a talent for art at an early age Derek would scribble and Draw on anything and everything that was put in front of him.

Pre-Order: Radiohead - In Rainbows

Dig this. two long days without a single drop of water, lost in a deep, dark jungle, the feeling of giving up life cos' it's restless and meaningless. Then came suddenly, a pool of rainwater lies in front of you, and the light shines above. That's how I feel right now.

The seventh album by English band Radiohead entitled In Rainbows was recently announced in the band's official blog Dead Air Space. The first release since the last Hail to the Thief in 2003, In Rainbows turns out to be the release with the longest gap in between albums. Maybe because every individual wants to do something on their own, like Yorke and Greenwood with their solo albums respectively.


The album is set to release on October 10 as digital download (only album disc) in their official album site, and pre-ordering the album now is recommended if you want to get the discbox on December 3, strictly exclusive pre-orderings in their site only, so far. Discbox will contain an album CD, a bonus disc enhanced with more new tracks, new artworks and photographs, and two 12-inch vinyls. Also included in the package are booklets of artworks and lyrics. Everything in one encased hardback book and slipcase. Priced at £40.00.

The man behind most of the cover arts for Radiohead, Stanley Donwood commented on the new album as "almost embarrassingly minimal," "sparse with lots of bass," and, more recently, "lush". Yorke spoke on the lyrical concept of In Rainbows, "It's about that anonymous fear thing, sitting in traffic, thinking, 'I'm sure I'm supposed to be doing something else'... it's similar to OK Computer in a way. It's much more terrifying. But OK Computer was terrifying too – some of the lyrics were."
