KAWS Light Bulb Set for The Standard

The Standard's series of artist editions continues with Brooklyn-based artist, KAWS. This is a limited, but non-numbered edition of 1,000 sets that contain 3 bulbs each, of one bulb in each color: red, purple and green.

The 3 watt bulbs have a warm low glow. Dimensions of each globe is about 4.75" x 2.25" and they screw into any standard incandescent fixture. 120 volts. We love how they look on a light string using multiple sets. The bulbs are individually boxed with a KAWS and The Standard sticker and then wrapped again in an outer box that holds all three, also co-branded. Outer box is designed to ship as is without additional packaging.

Stay tuned for more projects from KAWS by visiting www.standardculture.com.

"I love The Standard and the different projects they have been doing. When invited to create something I wanted to redesign something basic that could be found in every hotel room in the world so we decided to make a light bulb. I like the low colored glow it gives, similar to a candle" said KAWS.

Available now at colette and The Standard.

Adam Kimmel for Supreme

Of all the glittering collaboration strategies we could imagine by streetwear label Supreme, never it came across our minds it would be with NYC-based contemporary designer Adam Kimmel.

Why so? If it was a couple of flannel shirts or illustrated tees, it be sensible. Instead, the label brought in Kimmel to create a two-piece suit made from Italian cotton twill. It's probably all about fusion, a bit of this with a little bit of that - it goes back to how you rock the style, agree?

As we were saying, the suit features an unlined 2-button blazer and a custom-fitted pants, and it's available in two colors.

It will be out on March 31.

Alela Diane - Alela Diane & Wild Divine

Alela Diane is a homebody by nature. The Portland-based musician is extremely excited to release her new album titled Alela Diane & Wild Divine released through Rough Trade, on April 5.

However, this is not your typical Alela Diane record. There is no banjo plucked and drenched in ghostly reverb, no violin wielded like fine china at your chest cavity, no chiffon blowing curiously in the wind and most importantly, nothing vaguely freaky going on that goes beyond the inevitable waxing and waning of the moon. Rather, there comes a time when artistic pursuits warrant a new approach--one that reflects personal growth and its continued path--and therein lies the root base of the expanded sounds of Alela Diane & Wild Divine.

Much of Divine’s material was gathered from 2009’s constant travels: penned during long drives in the back of a tour van, and tested in windowless greenrooms overseas. Such environs prove hotbeds for creativity--though it’s rare you can truly harness it in the blur of cities passed--and Alela knew the songs could not be actualized until she fully unpacked her suitcase and settled into the sturdy walls she knew best. And blessed be; once the bags were emptied, they gathered dust for nearly all of 2010, marking the longest hiatus Alela had taken since she’d first embarked on the touring odyssey.

Skindred - Union Black

The hotly anticipated new album from ragga punk maestros Skindred, Union Black will be released on April 25 through BMG Rights. Already teasing fans with the brutal new single Warning featuring Papa Roach vocalist, Jacoby Shaddix, Union Black is a call to arms, a war cry and an absolute belter of a rock record.

Skindred was nominated for 2 awards in the Metal Hammer Golden Gods in the Best British Band and Best Live Band categories and have already reached top 5 in the Rock and Metal Album chart on Play.com.

Arya Goggin commented, "Things are really happening for Skindred at the moment. I truly believe that this is the best alum we have made and we can’t wait to get out on the road and play our fans these new songs! We are also hugely excited to have Chiodos and Me vs Hero as our special guests on this tour as we all really wanted to bring a diverse line up to the UK. We pride ourselves on having an interesting mix of music on our tours and this is going to be awesome!"

Moon Duo - Mazes

The formation of Ripley Johnson of Wooden Shjips and Sanae Yamada, San Francisco psych rock prodigies Moon Duo release their new album titled Mazes, which will be available from March 29 onwards, through Sacred Bones Records.

The most pop-oriented batch of songs the band has ever delivered, Mazes reveals a more accessible vocal delivery and song structure that is sure to appeal to a wide audience not necessarily well-versed in the psych underground. The concepts of minimalism, expansion through repetition and sensory distortion are all still here and the dynamic interplay between Ripley’s guitar and Sanae’s keyboard continue to push this band and genre into uncharted territory. A benchmark follow-up to their critically acclaimed previous LP, Escape and prior release for Sacred Bones, Killing Time.

Cold Cave - Cherish The Light Years

Dark synthful melodic charm, probably what we recognize Cold Cave as. Or maybe at least frontman Wesley Eisold sounded more accurate. The NYC-based experimental musical project by Eisold is set to release their second studio album titled Cherish The Light Years due out on April 5 through Matador Records.

The follow-up to their much acclaimed debut Love Comes Close, Cherish The Light Years sees Cold Cave playing progressive cards in flashing even more magical grooves to keep synth lovers happy.

"Cherish The Light Years is what I then envisioned happening in the future, but I was just starting to make my own songs, and it escalated to this. Through experimentation I stumbled on more song-oriented music." said Eisold.

Supreme x Thrasher

Supreme collaborated with reputable skateboarding magazine Thrasher to produce a series of apparels. Despite the fact it's the iconic Thrasher logo that we're loving it for, the design of the entire series seem a little 'plain' - it's another case where we're talking about brands that can deliver more than just placing logos on a tee.

Rather disappointing, but i'm sure Thrasher fans would be fond of this. There's a tee and hoodie available in a selection of color option to pick from. Available in the next coming days at your local stockists.
