Converse Japan April 2010 Release
Last month came small, April sees big. Well, not quite big we say, a little more than moderate.
The Japan extension of Converse has developed more colorways and patterns for this month, while, still maintaining the momentum to surprise us all with more favorable styles.
Some indeed were quite disappointing, on the other hand, some may be quite appealing.
The All Star range features numerous plain color releases, cut and sew patterns, and the exploration of different fabrics. Specifically, we fancy the black-colored 'fringe' inspired pair.
Jack Purcell seem a little low, however, the slim version of the JPs are convincingly impressive.
One Star seem to be in total silence, still we're looking forward to some great action next month.

The Gary - Logan
In 2009, Austin TX trio The Gary made waves with their debut EP, which produced the sleeper hit “Damn Machines” and six other songs of blue-collar angst and disillusionment.2010 brings the arrival of their full-length album Logan, ten songs of “Minutemen-esque brevity and wit” that raises the bar, though maintains the aesthetic, of their Chub EP. It’s been speculated that The Gary’s sound is the antithesis of much of today’s over-achieving indie rock scene, hearkening back to a sincere and direct approach that is sometimes lost on the gadgetry and vague delivery often found in current musical trends.
The band simply believes they are following their noses, as well as honoring their influences. Peruse through their record collections, and you’re sure to find albums by Husker Du, Silkworm, Mission Of Burma, Archers Of Loaf, Squirrel Bait, Sonic Youth, GBV, among many with the Touch & Go and Dischord imprint.
Logan is The Gary’s second release on the Austin, TX label Cedar Fever Records, due out on April 6.

The Dø 'A Mouthful' US Release on April 6
Indie rock duo The Dø is set to release their debut A Mouthful to the US on April 6 via Six Degree Records.The French/Finnish partners are releasing their US-debut completed with three bonus tracks. Technically, it's not a new release as it was released in 2008 and has garnered a major praise after reaching the top of the charts upon released in it's first week.
A bit late, however, better than never.

Holly Golightly - Medicine County
British singer-songwriter Holly Golightly and long time band mate Lawyer Dave have completed their third album together as Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs.
Medicine County was recorded in an abandoned, foreclosed upon church near Holly's home. Due out on March 30, released through Transdreamer Records.

Lawrence Arabia - Chant Darling
Busty party-like rhythms and sing-a-long chants, if you're any hooked to any of those, we love to introduce you Lawrence Arabia, the alter ego of James Milne, whose fame rose among bands like The Ruby Suns, The Brunettes, The Reduction Agents and Okkervil River.
He released his self-titled debut in 2006, and last year unveiled his second titled Chant Darling.

She & Him - Volume Two
